Intro, Action in ND Friday 6/1 and THANKS to ALL

First, since i have never written here before let me introduce myself, my name is Patti Holly and i am a pinker from North Dakota. I have been quietly been working for PEACE and trying to organize here in the beautiful badlands. This has been a somewhat daunting experience, i have found that although people are willing to be involved, they do not want to publicly acknowledge that they are involved. I'm working on that and am DETERMINED to change the situation. I am VERY lucky to have a statewide group of WONDERFUL, well established Peace Activists, North Dakota Peace Coalition, to work and exchange support with.

On Friday, June 1st, 2007, Zanne and the CodePINK truck came to North Dakota and we held vigils at Rep. Earl Pomeroy's offices in Fargo and Bismarck. Rep. Pomeroy is a LONG TIME representative here in North Dakota as are our Senators; Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan, OooHhhhh, and did i mention they are ALL Democrats? Well, GUESS WHAT? How do you think these “Democrats” voted on the “war funding bill” (that i call the “corporate mercenary funding bill” and/or “the funding of U.S. supported corporate theft of Iraq oil benchmark bill”) They ALL voted Yea on both the hidden vote before the actual vote and the actual vote! SHAME ON THEM ALL!!! SHAME ON THE MAJORITY OF ALL OF “OUR” SO CALLED “REPRESENTATIVES” ALL ACROSS THE U.S. FOR THEIR VOTES, ESPECIALLY THE “DEMOCTATIC” ONES!!! Have ALL of our reps who voted yea on these votes been confronted? Shouldn't they be? GO DO IT!!! PLEASE!!! NEVER LET THESE REPS GET AWAY WITH USING THE EXCUSE THAT THEY DIDN'T HEAR FROM “WE THE PEOPLE”!!!

Hopefully no one has been fooled by the votes of our Corporate Dems in name only (DINO's), our DLC (Democratic Leadership Council; http://www.dlc.org/ take a look at who's involved) connected Dems; Hillary Clinton, Rham Emmanual, etc. and i am increasingly concerned Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama voted yea on the vote before the “actual” vote which allowed for the “actual” vote to even come to the floor and waited to vote NAY on the “actual” vote until they were ABSOLUTELY SURE that the funding bill WOULD be passed! To me, this is almost more cowardly and insidious than a YEA vote! At least with the YEA voters they know that they may be called on their cowardice and expose themselves to that possibility. The fake NAY voters, think they are getting away with their scam and just may have gotten away with it, has anyone from CodePink confronted them? If not i sure hope they will!!! i have emailed/called their offices and will continue to do so, but as i am not a direct constituent of them, i get told that i am not, so i am not sure how much my opinion counts to them if at all. They want to run for national office, but continue to hide behind the lie that i am not their constituent. Imagine that... i pray i am not forced to vote for ANY DLC connected Dem when election time comes, i personally want NOTHING to do with the DLC! I am of the opinion, justified i believe, these politicians ARE NOT PROGRESSIVE! To me they are K-Street Democrats, Democrats in name only, i believe they are bought and paid for by the same corporations that the Republicans are.
I apologize for going off on a rant! That was not my objective, sorry!

Back to my actual purpose; 1. THANK YOU TO Zanne for coming to ND with the CodePINK truck and for ALL the work she has done and continues to do!!! Please know we APPRECIATE IT!! 2. To let EVERYONE here know how well we were received in Bismarck, ND; for well over an hour we had a countinous stream of autos passing us in front of the Federal Building honking in agreement, giving us the peace sign out their auto windows and literally getting out and walking up to join us! It was WONDERFUL!! i heartily encourage EVERY CODEPINKER to do what we did Friday and Zanne has been doing for a LONG time; HIT the STREETS!!! WE CAN and WILL change this country of OURS!!! It IS UP to US!!! Each and EVERY ONE of US MUST do OUR best to END THIS ILLEAGAL & IMMORAL OCCUPATION!!! After we accomplish that then we can move on to all of the other things we need to do to restore OUR country!!!

THANKS TO EVERYONE here for EVERYTHING YOU ALL DO!!! i am PROUD to be a part of CodePink!!! YOU ALL give me the strength and courage to continue!!! Damn, we have a WHOLE LOT to work on after we end this mess in Iraq!!!
