The Occupation Project
CODEPINK and Voices for Creative Nonviolence is organizing the Occupation Project, a campaign aimed at the offices of Representatives and Senators who won't stop funding the war. The campaign began the first week of February, 2007, when Bush introduced the new Supplemental Spending Bill. The Occupation Project encourages ongoing visits, sit-ins, and of sustained nonviolent civil disobedience to put the pressure on our elected officials to support our troops and stop funding war!

Make Love, Stop War
Help us to prevent a war with Iran.
The mainstream media is already jumping on the bandwagon about the Iranian threat. We hoped they would have learned their lesson after spreading falsehoods about WMDs in Iraq. But once again journalists such as New York Times' Michael R. Gordon, Judith Miller's sidekick in the WMD and phony aluminum tubes reporting, are quoting anonymous sources as proof that Iran is providing Iraqi militias with powerful explosives to attack US troops.
We need to tell the press that now is the time to ask serious questions instead of blindly supporting the administration's headlong rush into another tragic and unnecessary war.
Please visit http://www.codepink4peace.org/article.php?list=type&type=135 to learn how you can help.

Listen Hillary
The American people are saying, "Troops out,"Iraqi people are saying, "Troops out." Are you listening, Hillary? CODEPINK launched a nationwide campaign against Hillary Clinton because of her opposition to immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq. We have been tailing the senator around the state and the country to persuade her to oppose the war. Our protests have generated a buzz in the media, and our yearlong "Bird-Dog Hillary" campaign is having an impact! Join us as we ramp up for Bird-Dog phase two -- the 2008 election! Check out ListenHillary.Org, and join the conversation to tell Hillary to muster some much-needed anti-war energy!

Support Iraqi Women
CODEPINK brought a delegation of Iraqi women to the U.S. for March 8, 2006, International Women’s Day, as part of the Women Say No to War campaign. Some of these women toured parts of the US and participated in several anti-war protests marking the anniversary of the war during March 18-19, 2006.

Mandate for Peace
On Election Day the voters delivered a dramatic, unmistakable mandate for peace. Now it's time for action. On January 27, 2007, we converged from all around the country in Washington, D.C. to send a strong, clear message to Congress and the Bush Administration: The people of this country want the war and occupation in Iraq to end and we want the troops brought home now!
Stay tuned for information on actions in and around Washington D.C. for the 4th Anniversary of the Occupation of Iraq - March 16-19, 2007.

Support War Resistors
For the first time in the Iraq war, an officer in the U.S. Military, Lt. Ehren Watada, has publicly refused orders and will be brought to court-martial this summer. Click here for ways to show your solidarity and here to read a letter from Carolyn, Ehrens mom, and find out more about his case. You can also support Army Specialist Suzanne Swift, who suffered sexual harassment at the hands of her commanding officers and refused to return to Iraq.

Troops Home Fast
On July 4, 2006 we launched an historic hunger strike, TROOPS HOME FAST in Washington, DC in front of the White House. While many Americans expressed their patriotism via barbeques and fireworks, we've been fasting in memory of the dead and wounded, and calling for the troops to come home from Iraq. While we celebrated the end of our fast and International Peace Day in front of the White House on September 21 (Jodie Evans and Carrie Biggs-Adam were honored for completing 80 days of fasting!), we are also re-initiating our fast at the same time. Some people have decided to fast every Wednesday until the troops come home.
Please go to www.troopshomefast.org to learn more.

Local Action Dialogue
Each of our 250 CODEPINK local groups has its own spirit and flavor. Groups may pick a particular campaign to work on over time, such as a legislative pressure campaign, countering military recruitment, bringing the National Guard home, or an ongoing regularly scheduled vigil to distribute information about the war and increase awareness around the number of soldiers and civilians lost to the war. Groups may choose to take action around particularly important days, such as March 19th, the anniversary of the occupation of Iraq, or Mother’s Day, which was originally intended to be a women’s day of protest against war. When Bush, Condie, and other members of the administration—or elected officials who are refusing to take action against the war—come to town, local groups organize to bird-dog them, pressuring them into changing their position with creative and fun actions and inside disruptions.
Local groups set their own agenda, choosing to work on particular grassroots anti-war campaigns, and they are also willing and eager to participate in our national campaigns and actions. To get a feel for some of the inspiring CODEPINK actions that are happening around the globe, you can visit our online Local Spotlight.

You cannot stop funding the war
without funding a troop pullout. Bush and Cheney have gotten us into such a mess that it will cost more money to get out (and they will benefit from that, too!!)
Why do you think that we need to tell...
